Various – Flag (Econore, 2022, CDr)
Contributed an older track “The Pink Pearl” off 2016’s split cassette with Tomás Tello to this compilation / label sampler of Econore records. Beautiful selection of music and interesting cover as always with this label.
Juzaga – Onomatopoeia (Econore, 2021, cassette)
Debut cassette of Juzaga, which is a duo with Philipp Ernsting on drums and myself on guitar. “The music in these tracks is elaborate sonic improvisations over kinetic drum work with hints of ragas and stoner rock, all delivered with a punch! Excellent release. Suggestion: PLAY IT LOUD!” — Vital Weekly 1314
Arvind Ganga / Jeans Beast split (self-released, 2021, cassette)
Split cassette with Jeans Beast, head honcho of Econore records. Wonderful wave inspired track by Jeans Beast. I experimented with two randomly tuning radios and a guitar, a direction I definitely want to explore further. Beautiful cover by Julian Flemming.
Arvind Ganga & Riccardo Marogna – Ballads From The Wrecked Ship (A New Wave Of Jazz, 2021, CD)
Improvisations by Riccardo Marogna on saxophones and electronics, and myself on guitar. Humbled with the wonderful praise this album got from Opduvel, Jazzword, Squidco, MusicMachine, African Paper, Trybuna Muzyki Spontanicznej, Enola, JazzHalo.
Various – Walk My Way (Orbit577, 2021, CD)
Contributed a track called Kaumari to this six album compilation of experimental guitarists from all over the world. Curated by Nick Vander, released by Orbit577, sublabel of 577 Records. Wonderful selection of guitar players and music and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
Gangpad – Slangenei (Silver Ghosts, 2020, cassette)
First release by Gangpad, a duo of object and contact mic improvisors from Den Haag. Inspired by the likes of Blueberry Maple Pancake Lassi Goses and Cotton Candy Piña Colada Space Cookie Double Milkshake IPAs they dive headfirst into sonic dialogue with witty banter and double entendres while making jazz hands.
Live Edition #3 (Econore, 2019, CD)
Two solo live recordings from spring 2019, each with a different character. Part of the Live Edition series of Econore records.
Subrahmanya (Econore, 2018, CDr)
Three free flow improvisations and the recording of a set at the Incubate Festival in 2014. The Econore guys did a wonderful job with the packaging. Very limited edition. “Weird over the top cacophony and ambient-like drones go hand in hand. (…) And above all with lots of power and musical ideas. Very interesting and fresh sounding stuff! Encore!” Vital Weekly 1152.
Amador/Ganga/Kalash – Fading Ground (al-bayān, 2017, CD)
Five improvisations by Josué Amador (guitar & objects), Dirar Kalash (electric violin & electronics) and me, situated somewhere between noise, drones, free rock, and abstract psychedelics. Available as cd in digipack with artwork by Dirar, from Al Bayān records. This cd received beautiful reviews from/in Vital Weekly 1096, Opduvel, Jazzism, and Yeah I Know It Sucks.
Sri Maha Mariamman (Toztizok Zoundz, 2016, cassette)
Solo tape featuring six pieces on electric guitar and objects, inspired by the colours and sounds of the Sri Maha Mariamman temple in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the calmness inside and the hecticness of the surroundings.
Arvind Ganga / Tomás Tello – Split (Andesground, 2015, cassette)
Split with Peruvian experimental guitar player / analog wizard Tomás Tello on Andesground Tapes. Pro-dubbed C44 chrome tapes with two different covers by Maruo Banda. Three improvisations on guitar and objects on my side, and two pieces by Tomás on guitar, cameras, radios, charango, and field recordings from Bhubaneshwar in India, and Morocco on the flipside. “Great cassette altogether.” — Vital Weekly 1021
Saraswati (self-released, 2014, cassette)
Limited edition self-released tape recorded here in Den Haag in july 2014. Six tracks, 30 minutes of free guitar musings using very limited means: my guitar, a handful of objects, and a backwards effect on the opening track. Reviewed in Vital Weekly #948 and at Raised By Gypsies.
Arvind Ganga & Rogier Smal (Toztizok Zoundz, 2013, book + cd)
Hidden inside a stencilled booklet with drawings by drummer Rogier Smal is a cd on which Rogier and I recorded some free form versions of some of our favorite songs and some improvisational instant compositions. Reviewed in Vital Weekly 895 and Gonzo Circus 115.
Lekkernijen – Lekkernijen (Silver Ghosts, 2012, CDr)
Lekkernijen is the freedom rock outfit of Manuel (City Hands, Silver Ghosts, Ernie McCracken) on drums, Peter (at least 1,000 concerts a year) on bass and me on guitar. This is our first recording, with a freedom approach to structure and composition, but not afraid to dig our teeth into a hypnotic groove. True psychedelic music perhaps. Insane cover by Manuel as always.
Various – Burning Palms (Flaming Pines, 2011, download)
Contributed a track as Every Bolt Rumbling to this compilation on Flaming Pines “about a small beach in Sydney , Australia called Burning Palms. Accessible only on foot, It is the home of black cockatoos, many palm trees and a natural figure eight rock pool. Most contributers haven’t been there. For them this compilation has been a process of imagination and fantasy, for others it has been one of nostalgia, remembering and forgetting. This compilation is about the process of imbuing a place with meaning, a common theme in ambient music. But rather than aiming to uncover some inner essence of the landscape this compilation looks at how this act can be just as much a work of fiction as one of fact.” Reviewed at Cyclic Defrost and Textura.
Every Bolt Rumbling – Perpetual Love and Chaos Galore (Silver Ghosts, 2011, cassette)
Debut solo tape, from when I used the Every Bolt Rumbling moniker. “Free flow guitar musings that connect, especially when form starts to shine through and the songs become compelling and mesmerizing creatures that nest themselves in your soul to make it their home.” Disquiet.com dedicated an article to the opening track Life As A Gaucho.
