‘tzZiiiY’ is a performance with Maria Mavridou and me that goes beyond movement and sound, feeding on uncertainty in pursuit of intensity. Without preconceptions both performers enter the stage, each committed to an uncompromising, moment to moment search for tension that materializes and resonates as a “tzZiiiY”. Feasting on the moment, the atmosphere, the audience, the smells, the fear, the hope, the love, they hand each other full permission and push themselves to the edge. The desire to overcome the limits of their creativity is central to this work. Riding on the same desire, with often radically different attitudes and approaches, the two reveal the roughness, wilderness, awkwardness, devastation, fascination, fragility and the humor of their co-existence. Meanwhile, they surrender to serendipity which brings together sounds, movements and words into ephemeral pieces of art.
